I went to physio with a pain just below my knee that I thought was permanent. I am 30 years old and expected that pain was just a part of getting older, especially after years of abuse of running, skateboarding and all sorts of physical activity and injuries. After my first session I was cautiously optimistic, but within a week of adopting my new exercises the pain in my knee reduced significantly. I continued with the exercises and the pain continued to reduce; I also began to feel stronger and more agile in my knees than ever before. I was not just taught exercises, but provided insight and guidance on the mechanics and biology of the body and learned how and what was causing my knee pain. This insight was transformative, and has changed the way I exercise and train. I have just been discharged and can safely say my knee pain is nearly gone - after a long run I may feel a niggle, but I know that with continuing to strengthen my knee and resting appropriately even those pains will go. Since I started physio I have broken my park run PB 3 times and am slowly reaching my aim of a sub 20 minute (whereas before I thought I would never best 22 minutes again). I have started distance run training again after the half marathon last year that resulted in the original pain, and I feel stronger and fitter than ever. All this is to say, if you are contemplating physio and your pain is limiting your exercise or your ability - do it. And I cannot recommend Simon and the Team highly enough. It was worth every penny!
